can be reached
on foot or

bicycle.
The town of Angera on the lake is 15 minutes on foot at 1400m(0,

miles).
A number of cafes, restaurants, pizzerias and bars are
in town.
The characteristic of the town is though the imposing Rocca , a
medieval fortress , also called the guard of Lake Maggiore.
It can be visited on foot or by car, and it hosts today the famous
“Dolls
museum"
Plenty of boating sailing activities are available.
An open market is held every Thursday.
Arona

on the opposite side of the lake, for shopping or for a café is
accessible through the hourly boat that takes 10 minutes to
reach.
Summer skiing in Switzerland is 90 minutes drive to the north of
Arona, the Swiss town of Locarno at the north end of the lake
can be reached by hovercraft in 90 minutes, the scenic islands
of Madre, Bella and Isola dei Pescatori are reachable by ferry
service from the Angera port and there is golf, tennis and
horseback within easy reach by car.
Milano
with its
famous
museums
is reachable by train from Sesto Calende (10km, 6 miles south), or
by the daily bus that passes at 7 am on the lake entrance of the
house.
By private car is 50 minutes away.
Other towns within an hour by car are Varese
, (also direct bus service) ,Stresa, Laveno, Lugano
(Switzerland)
